ONLINE STALLION SERVICE AUCTION
A Fundraiser For The Australian International 4*Three Day Event 2010.
The 2010 Australian International Three Day Event will be held in the Adelaide parklands from November 12th to 14th. This prestigious event has the unique distinction of being the only CCI4* (Olympic level) 3DE in the Southern Hemisphere.
Retaining the event in Adelaide now and into the future, is of vital importance, not only for the benefit of all Australian based riders vying for Olympic and World Championship Australian Team selection but also for the development of our talented young horses and riders in the associated lower level classes.
This world renowned event, held in the wonderful Adelaide City Parklands, is a great showcase for the sport of eventing and equestrian pursuits in Australia but is costly to run.
The 2010 event needs as much support as it can muster. To this end we have decided to run another Stallion Auction. The stallion owners from last year’s auction have agreed that it was a wonderful showcase for their horses and most have agreed to support us again.
Twenty four stallion services have been donated and an Olympic Royal GL Horse Float has been provided for this auction which is now online.
AUCTION – CONDITIONS OF SALE
The Bid Value is for the actual Service / Semen + GST All associated costs (agistment, handling fee, collection & transport of semen, veterinary costs etc) are the responsibility of the successful bidder in addition to the bid value. The method of Service – Live Cover (and locality stallion is standing) or Semen, (chilled or frozen), is listed on the Auction advertising material together with the advertised Service Fee (including or plus GST). All final bids will be plus GST
Associated costs – with Live Cover would include agistment for the mare at stud and any Handling Fee normally charged by the stud.
- with Chilled Semen would include a collection fee and a transport of semen fee. (approx. $300 – $500.)
- with Frozen Semen would include a transport of semen in a hired canister. (approx. $300)
A “Reserve” of approximately half the advertised Service Fee + GST will be placed on each Stallion Service (as a courtesy to both owner & stallion). The Stallion Owner will be informed of the successful bidder’s details on completion of the Auction, and confirmed after payment to AI 3DE is received.
A Reserve of approximately the wholesale price of the Float +GST will be placed on the float.
The successful bidder is then responsible to discuss with the stallion owner the terms regarding Live Foal Guarantee and / or Free Return and / or number of insemination doses per contract (some state a maximum of 3 doses)
Terms & conditions, as per the Stud’s normal breeding contract, would also apply. If any other information is required about the service before bidding, please contact the owner. Each bidder is required to fill in a certain amount of details before registering a bid.

AUCTION – HOW IT WORKS
Whilst there is a nominal closing time of 5.00pm (Brisbane Time) – which is 4.30pm Adelaide Time, on the 10th of October, there will be a delay added to the system whereby if no new bids are received after the close time, the item will close for bidding. However, if additional bids come in on an individual item during this 3 minute period, bidding will be extended on this item for an additional 3 minutes, until such time as 3 minutes pass without any further bids.
