The Thursday wrap from Adelaide

Rachael Lee and Urodel Du Texier

An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at the

Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event - find out more here

“Am I still in the lead?” asked Rachael Lee when I called to interview her and indeed, she was.

Rachael, who always cuts a very elegant figure in the dressage arena, and her 10-year-old grey gelding Urodel Du Texier took the lead in the CCI2* at the Mitsusbishi Motors International 3 Day Event just before the lunch break and they steadfastly hung on in there with a score of 31, usurping Western Australia’s Cindy Lyall and GI Joe who had taken the lead with a 31.20 earlier in the morning (watch our full interview with Cindy here)

      Amanda Ross and Diablo

Amanda Ross’ Don Diablo, competing at his first CCI2*, made a few mistakes but they still sit on a very good score of 31.6 (very probably this would have been the only sub-30 score today without those green errors) in third place and another Victorian, Claire McDermott is very pleasantly surprised to be in fourth place (31.80) riding Klydoscope

Last year’s 2* winner, Emma Mason is currently in fifth place on Aramatai Fox (32.80) and the leading rider in the Young Rider Championship taking part in this class, Sam Jeffree, is in sixth place riding Jaybee Calypso (33.10)

We caught up with several of the riders after their dressage test and these full interviews are coming up soon but here are some snippets from today in Adelaide …..

While the 2* riders can enjoy some relaxation tomorrow, it's the turn of the 3* and 4* riders tomorrow to hit the dressage arena and they were out in force this evening for arena familiarisation
