Saturday at Equestriad

Shane Rose and Virgil lead at TRM Equestriad

An Eventful Life is filming all competitors on cross country at

TRM Equestriad - find out more here

Shane Rose topped and tailed the TRM CCI4*-S class at the TRM Equestriad today, leading after the dressage on Virgil with a score of 26.4 while his other two horses, Ultimate Velocity and Easy Turn were in 15th and 16th places.

Virgil held his lead thanks to a clear show jumping round later in the day and we caught up with Shane after the dressage for a chat about the three horses and how he fits it all in at an event he is busy organising

      Stuart Tinney and Celebration

Stuart Tinney was lying in second place (27.30) on Celebration, the eye catching eight-year-old German bred chestnut horse owned by Elizabeth Brinton who still has the fun of riding him between competitions and in third place on Wanda, an 11-year-old grey mare. They also both held their places with clear show jumping rounds and Stuart also rode Leporis, in 16th place after the dressage when we caught up with him for a brief chat

Tim Boland also had a very good day at the office, currently in first and second place of the Camden Council CCI3*-S on Menlo Park and Napoleon, with very little between them on scores of 27 and 27.3

But it wasn’t all about the big guns today with the EvA80 and EvA60 classes starting and finishing their event. It was a warm, sultry day but luckily the sun was behind cloud for much of the afternoon when these classes were out on cross country

Local rider Shenae Slattery was in equal third place after the dressage phase of the Jojubi Saddlery EvA80C riding Go Jigsaw and had a great run on cross country. We spoke to her while she was waiting for her sister, who was also competing, about how her event had gone. We’re still waiting for final results at the time of writing but, as Shane says, results don’t matter – Shenae obviously had a good day!

We've got lots more interviews, updates and photos to come so stay tuned ................
