Lower level combinations are turning out in droves this weekend at Denman Horse Trials in the Upper Hunter Region of NSW, about 250 kilometres north of Sydney

Thanks to its location, last year the event was one of the few to run when Sydney was going through a Covid outbreak and this year it has also been fortunate in avoiding most of the wet weather that has repeatedly hit coastal NSW

As a result, riders are keen to get their horses out so with lots of entries, particularly at the EvA80 level, there will be two days of cross country this year.

All five EvA80 classes, sponsored by Marsh Carney Saddlery, will complete a proper ‘one day event’ with the three phases taking place on Saturday while the other classes - two divisions of CCN1*, three divisions of EvA95, four divisions of EvA60 and two EvA45 classes – will have their phases split across Saturday and Sunday

Last year's CCN1* winner Andrew Barnett is back, this time with Oscar Park Chisholm and other top riders to keep an eye out for in these classes are Heath Ryan with Bobby Dazzler, Prue and Craig Barrett on Sandhills Briar and Bloomsburys Jack Flash, Christine Bates on Fleeting and Olivia Barton, who will be a busy girl with three rides across the 1*

We’ll see you there and don’t forget to smile at the camera!
