The battle of equals in the CCN95 at Puhinui

Christine Jeffs and Spellbound looking good on course but 10.4 time penalties dropped them out of contention

Two lovely black horses battled it out on cross country at the CCN95 at Puhinui International Horse Trials this morning with Leisa Keightley’s Black Attire and Christine Jeffs on Spellbound both leading after the dressage on a score of 27 but it was Leisa that held on to the lead with a double clear cross country round while Christine picked up 10.4 time penalties to drop her down the leader board

Leisa was delighted with her first cross country start back here after a 14 year break but admits that she is feeling the pressure a bit heading into the show jumping

Lisa Keightley and Black Attire successfully head out of the water complex

The equal battle is now between Lisa Chapple riding Stiloso Whataretheodds and Christen Lane riding Henton Armada who are in equal second place after the cross country on scores of 29.50. They have both moved up from equal 5th after the dressage as the equal third placed riders after dressage, Jessica Woods and Bev Mulder both picked up 20 penalties

Whataretheodds indeed of all those equal placings?
