Amanda Ross holds lead at Sydney International

Amanda Ross and Koko Popping Candy

Amanda Ross and Koko Popping Candy have maintained their lead in the Bates Saddles CCI3* at the Sydney International Horse Trials after the cross country phase

They added just 5.6 time penalties on the Mike Etherington-Smith course to hold the lead on 32.80 but Amanda’s good friend, Olympic medallist Megan Jones, is hot on her heels with a score of 33. Megan and Kirby Park Impress were the third fastest combination of the class, picking up just 2.4 time penalties and giving Amanda no room to move in the show jumping phase

Emma Bishop and CP Issey Miyake remain in third place (34.90), Christine Bates and Adelaide Hill are also still in the running on 35.2 while Rob Palm and Koko Story, the only combination to make the time on cross country have moved up from 12th place after the dressage, to be in fifth place (35.50)

With less than a rail between the top five, it’s going to be an exciting finish to the Sydney International Three Day Event
