2018 New Zealand eventing squads named

       Jonelle Price and Faerie Dianimo at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

 

New Zealand has announced its Eventing Squads for 2018 and five familiar faces make up the High Performance squad with various horses.

Jonelle Price, Tim Price, Sir Mark Todd and Clarke Johnstone represented New Zealand at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and will be looking to make the New Zealand team at Tryon World Equestrian Games next year. Blyth Tait, reserve for the 2016 Olympic team is also named on the High performance Squad whilst Jock Paget, who was part of the Olympic team but had to withdraw at the last moment due to a horse injury, is currently on the High Performance Futures Squad

Several combinations from New Zealand and the UK are on the Future Potential Recognition Squad including Sam Felton, Donna Smith and Ginny Thompson (NZ) and James Avery (UK) who all enjoyed a strong year in 2017 at various levels

The winner of the CCI1* Junior classat Puhinui International, Kate Herdson is named on the Talent ID Squad along with several other young up and coming New Zealand based riders
