Meet my horses

Althea Bleekman horse

      Anmarsch being cheeky!

Without any "big" events at the minute it’s a great time to introduce you all to my three best horses!

I have three International horses - Anmarsch being the youngest at 8 years old. He is a really exciting horse for the future, he's really smart on the flat and a super jumper. At the minute he's competing at 2* level and is proving pretty consistent! "Teddy" as I call him in the stable is the super model of horses and also probably one of the nicest horses I have ever had. He's very cuddly and always has his head over the door for a chat!

Meepswood Conquestor is a 9yr old grey gelding, I call him my Pegasus as at 17h3 he’s pretty huge! "Arnie" is a completely different character to Teddy. He's very laid back about everything and while he’s not flashy he has a huge amount of scope. He pops around three star as though it's one star. He went clear around Saumur CCI3* as an 8 year old and this year did the same at Strzegom CCI3*. He will now go to Boekelo CCI3*. I've had him since he was just broken in and I hope he'll take me to 4 star! He also has a best friend in my sister’s old pony BW. They are completely in love and spend their time in the field together!

       Ziomf and I at Barbury

Last, but most definitely not least, is the Queen of the yard - Ziomf. She is a 9 year old chestnut mare and is barely 15hh. She is easily the smallest horse on the yard, but this doesn't bother her. I'm pretty sure she thinks she’s 18hh. She has the biggest ego and the most amazing character. Ziomf went to Boekelo CCI3* last year and flew round. This year she was 11th in the CIC3* at Barroca in Portugal and 6th in the CIC3* at Renswoude in Holland. She is a fighter and although not the easiest horse in the world sometimes, I know she puts 150% into everything she does.

At the minute all the horses are just competing in one or two national classes waiting for the Internationals to kick off again in August/September, which means that we have had a slightly easier time over the last few weeks. It couldn't have been timed better as for the first time in a long time we have had some decent weather in England! It’s been great to be able to catch up with friends and have some brilliant barbeques without having to worry about the normal rain!

Sadly I don't think this weather is going to last much longer, so I'm sure by the time you read my next blog we'll be floundering around in the mud again!

Until then,
