October 2014

I am just home from the Asian Games in Korea where I won a team bronze!! It was another great experience and an excellent competition. I am so pleased with Marble, he was such a star and didn’t put a foot wrong during the whole trip. He took everything on like a complete rockstar and travelled there and back so well. I really couldn’t ask for more from a horse, he really is quite special.

The venue was all very well set up, brand new purpose built facilities, stables and arenas. We were all very spoilt! The only downside was that it was quite a distance from the athlete’s village where we were all staying.

The competition itself was very exciting with the standard of riders and horses improved from the last games 4 years ago. The cross country course was very well built by John Nicholson and was very solid and upright with fair questions! Marble and I finished 4th individually so just missed an individual medal by a slight margin. I was disappointed to miss out but my horse and I did our best, which is all that matters.

This is the end of the season for me and the horses so we will have a little break before picking up and getting ready for the next year

April 2015

Long may the sunshine continue!!!

I can’t believe the nice weather we have been having over the last few days! The sun makes everything so much better smiley

Lulu had an amazing run at South of England last weekend. She did a personal best in the dressage with 26 and a double clear to finish 4th. I was so pleased with her as I have been working so hard in the last few months to get her stronger, and this was our best result to date.

I have also just returned from a week in Hong Kong. The HKJC invited us to join them in their 130th anniversary celebrations. There was a 3 day carnival over the Easter weekend where there were various displays and demonstrations for their members and public at the racecourse. It was a lot of fun cantering on perfect turf on an ex-racehorse jumping a small course of cross country fences and splashing through the water.  My other team members also attended and we were very fortunate that Shanghai Tang sponsored us with a polo shirt each. We are hoping to get some clothing sponsorship from them so fingers crossed!

Will keep you all updated again soon ............
