Busy, busy May

This month has come and gone so quick. So many things happened and so many things had to be done, but it’s good to be busy.

It's always a relief when the trot up is done!

In the first week of May we went to Castenray CCI* in Holland, which was the first event of our three Japanese team selection trial events for the Asian Games. My mare Printemps went absolutely super in the dressage coming 9th out of 48 starters, and then clear XC and show jumping. Although the rider was a half asleep and got a few time penalties in both XC and show jumping, we still managed to get the placing of 12th.

The organizer of Castenray made a little video clip and uploaded on Youtube which is beautifully done. We are also in around 2min 5sec mark. The rider doesn’t look too neat but the horse is jumping great!! (we think you look pretty good Daiki! - Editor)

After we got back home on Sunday afternoon, we had to prepare for the trip to England for the next morning. Our mission was to take the horse to Tetbury, which is near Badminton Horse Trials on Monday and get back to Germany by Tuesday lunch time! And it happened to be that it was the Badminton week. It was such a bugger we couldn’t stay any longer. We even drove pass the entrance of the Badminton!!

       On the way to Dover!

The trip was done and dusted, and then Christine Doan, who is a Printemps’ owner and my long time supporter, visited our stable all the way from Australia. It was so good to catch up with her, plus she has the professional dressage eye to give me some advice which is always so helpful.

Then the week after, we went to Maarsbergen CIC* in Holland which was our second selection trial event. Again we busted through all the three phases and got placed in 5th! I sound like I’m giving ourselves a praise, but Printemps really tried hard and went absolutely beautifully.

Now coming to June, I and Yoshi will head to the last trial event at Strzegom in Poland and Dirk will be preparing for Luhmühlen. The pressure is on, but I love it to be in the position where I can feel the pressure!
