Schools out for summer

Okay so I really underestimated year 12 with all the school work and home work involved!

In term 4 I had four assessments due for every subject except English. Because of this I had to be a good HSC student and scratch from Berrima, leaving more of my weekends free for school-work. I guess you could say the past two months have been pretty boring and there isn’t very much report on except for the fact that both Positano and I are well. The poor boy must be getting pretty bored of working in the arena but the good thing is I am now on holidays and by the time you read this I will be down in Nowra!

Positano and I at the start of the year

Over the next two months my schedule is hectic as it usually is this time of the year. I’m spending about third of my holidays at camps and these include the PCA State Camp for eventing, the Eventing NSW Mirrabooka camp and of course my coach Simon’s Holiday Camp. Apart from riding, I usually visit family during the holidays and do a lot of camping too.  Hopefully I’ll have a lot to report back on and I’ll try to update as much as possible during my break, which isn’t really a break with all the holiday homework I have …

This year had probably been the biggest for me so as far as my riding has progressed. I started competing Positano at the end of 2011 and we are already successfully winning and placing at pre-novice. I’d really like to thank Andrew and Gina Haddad for selling this amazing horse to me! I’m super excited to see how far we go together, especially once I’ve finished school. Of course I’m really grateful to my coach Simon and my parents who’ve supported me this year and everybody I ride and compete with … thanks for always reminding why I chose eventing!

I've enjoyed some great events this year and hope to do it all again next year .... along with the school work!

Next year, being HSC year, I’ll have to pace myself a bit, but I really want to continue doing camps and training days as much as I can. I’m looking forward continuing to improve at pre novice and I hopefully I’ll be starting one star soon!
