Time for Tamworth

Black Hawk II in the EvA105 cross country at Harden

It’s only been a little over a month since my last blog, better than four months like last time ..... I’m improving!!

The eventing season has begun, YAY

We started back at Harden CNC last week with a team of three horses. As it was our first event back, understandably the horses were a bit out of practice but we still managed to come home with Nugget placing 7th in the EvA105 and Rocky and Rabbit placing 7th and 10th in the 1*.

Ipso Facto (Rocky) in the 1* Dressage at Harden

Next for us is Tamworth CIC in two weeks. I will be riding Rocky in the 2*, Rabbit and Secrets in the 1* and Nugget in the EvA105.  It’s a long trip for us to get there so we will head up on the Thursday before to give the horse a chance to recover and settle in. The venue at Tamworth is fantastic so I am very excited to go back!

After Tamworth we have a weekend of show jumping at Tatura on Friday and dressage on Sunday at Albury.  From there we go to Werribee for two weeks in a row for Friends of Werribee CIC and then the Victorian Eventing Fundraiser CNC.

Over the two events at Werribee I will have horses entered in the 2* right down to two horses doing their first EvA80!

We have lots of events planned for the rest of the year with horses going to Canberra CIC, Goulburn CIC, Tamworth again, Adelaide hopefully, Wallaby Hills CIC and Lakes & Craters to finish off the year.

Fingers crossed for some good results!

       My very cute 21st cake!

In other non horsey news, I celebrated my 21st birthday on the 27th of July. We celebrated with a small gathering of family and friends then I spent a few days at Falls Creek skiing. It was a nice little getaway but I missed my horses!

My lovely grandparents gave me a very flash camera for my birthday so be ready for lots of photos of my beautiful ponies!

Planning my September kids’ camps is going very well. Both the Junior and Young Rider Camps are full with 10 riders in each. I am also offering a new program in September. I will be running three Learn to Ride days, giving beginners the opportunity to not only ride but learn how to handle horses safely.

Hopefully I can manage to keep the monthly blogs coming!

Better get back to it!!
