BERRIMA CIC 2012

The Berrima event is held at ‘Araluen’ just off the Hume Highway approximately 10 minutes south west of Moss Vale. The venue is about 1 hour 45 minutes south of Sydney and a couple of hours north of Canberra.
In recent years the addition of the ‘club house’ situated above the cross country course has given spectators a great vantage point and also somewhere to get out of the very diverse Southern Highlands weather. There are no showers or camping facilities available on Araluen but many competitors use the nearby Moss Vale Showground. The area also has many local agistment properties who offer overnight accommodation.
In 2011 the cross country tracks for the CIC3* and CIC2* were substantially changed after constructive suggestions from senior riders, Course Designers and Technical Delegates. Brett Ryan and Henk Brus along with Berrima President Vince Roche built several new fences to improve the flow of the course, which included some big straightforward fences rather than too many technical efforts. Tonnes of sand, aggregate and stable manure were spread on the new show jumping arena as well as the jumping warm up area to improve the footing.
