Thursday morning marked the start of the Lakes and Craters Three Day Event for 2015 with the Castlefin Equestrian Horse Inspection on the main oval. Things kicked off well for Sam Jeffree and Erin Callahan who won the best presented male and female at the trot up.

The day continued well for Sam, who finished in first place in the CCN105J after dressage with his new ride Northern Isaac. The other class to complete dressage that day was the Young Rider CCI* class, which is currently led by Meg Bishop.

This is the first year of the event holding an EvA80 section, so today (Friday) was a busy (and hot!) day of dressage with three sections of Intro being run as well as three sections of EvA95, a huge class of EvA105 riders, and of course the One, Two and Three Star classes.

The EvA80 classes are currently being led by Jane Allen, Jodi Clayton and Leah Rodwell

The three EvA95 classes have Charlotte Sheldon, Natalie Davies and Robyn Brown starring in first place.

The big pre-novice class is being led by the popular Adele Kretser who has had great success of late. It was also a good day for another popular rider Edith Kane who is sitting in 2nd and 3rd on two of her rides behind Adele.

Well done to Courtney Fraser who is leading the CCI1*, CCI2* rider Sheridan Wilson is ahead of the other contender in that class Jacqui Bladier.

Seamus Marwood is edging out Keira Byrnes in the CCI3*, and the CIC3* saw Tarryn Proctor back out on ESB Irish Quest.

The day finished with a course walk for the Junior and Young riders (above) organised by Young Rider Of The Year Sam Jeffree and provided by 4* riders Will Enzinger and Emily Anker, a riders meeting and of course an Aussie BBQ!

Everyone is looking forward to cross country day tomorrow, remembering to look after themselves and their horse in the heat, with the Intro and Prelim riders preparing for a double whammy as they are doing show jumping as well!
