One to watch - Jasmine Dennison

Jasmine and Lakevale Stylish Century - he may have had a little stop at the water but she still loves him!

One rider who caught our eye on the cross country at Lakes and Craters was 12 year old Jasmine Dennison who won the Preliminary Junior (EA95 Junior) on Bubble & Squeak.

She unfortunately had a  stop at the water on her pony Lakevale Stylish Century in the Preliminary C - their final competition together. He is now being handed to her younger sister to ride while Jasmine will event her new horse Bubble & Squeak, previously partnered by Annabel Armstrong, as well as doing some showjumping. Having learnt to ride at the age of seven in Italy, Jasmine returned to Australia “besotted by horses” says her father who, although never having ridden himself, actively supports his children’s riding. “It’s great for them” he says “It teaches them responsibility and they love it”

We chatted to Jasmine after her cross country round on Lakevale Stylish Century. With 12 year olds like this coming up in the sport, I don’t think that people need to worry too much about Australian eventing.... unless the lure of Tuscany means that the Italian speaking Jasmine ends up riding for Italy
