Locog allows second horse inspection at London 2012

Further to the furore caused by Hugh Thomas’ resignation over the horse inspections at Greenwich, the UK Telegraph reports that LOCOG have now agreed to admit ticket holders for the final jumping phase on July 31st

According to the FEI Olympic Competition Schedule the second horse inspection will take place between 7:45am and 9:15am with the eventing showjumping starting at 10:30am.

The first horse inspection to be held on 27th July between 11:00am and 1:00pm prior to the start of the eventing will not be open to the public

According to the Telegraph, Ingmar De Vos, FEI secretary-general, said:

“The FEI is happy that Locog has revised the access schedule to allow spectators into the venue in plenty of time to watch the final horse inspection.

"July 31 is a particularly important day as it is the day when the first medals will be decided in equestrian sport’s centenary year.”
