About An Eventful Life

This is a unique opportunity to work with and learn from a company with over 30 years’ experience in traditional print publishing and 10 years plus in digital media.

An Eventful Life is all about the world of the equestrian sport of eventing. We provide eventing fans with on-line news and features as well as our cross country video service which allows competitors, coaches, family and friends the opportunity to view their full cross country round.

We video at more than 50 events a year in the UK as well as at events in Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to assist and/or manage the videoing at events throughout the UK season.

After “in-field” training you will be required to manage the setting up and monitoring of cameras throughout the day at selected events. You may also be required to liaise with event organisers to provide footage to assist with the resolution of rider disputes and footage to assist with rider/spectator safety

This is an opportunity to take on a role of responsibility and to work with a well respected company within the sport of eventing.

We are looking for people with a friendly outgoing personality that enjoy working outdoors

The role

This position is for an immediate start. There will be a fast track training program so you will need to ready and willing to put yourself to the test.

We are looking for people to assist with the production of our cross country video service. The work will generally involve working over the whole weekend plus the Friday to travel to and set up for the event.

The eventing season runs between March and October each year and you will be required to travel to events throughout the UK which will usually require that you are away from home for a minimum of two nights. In addition to payment per event, all travel, accommodation and out of pocket expenses will be paid by An Eventful Life

Although the role is immediate in the UK, we also welcome applications from Australia and New Zealand for the near future

Skills and personal attributes

The successful applicants will be well organised with an outgoing and friendly personality who enjoy working with others. You will ideally have some photographic/videography experience, although this is not essential.

An understanding of the sport of eventing will be a definite advantage. You must have a current drivers licence and be a car owner. As the work is outdoors you will need to be comfortable working in all weathers; the work can be demanding physically and so a reasonable level of physical fitness is essential.

Initial interviews will be arranged via Zoom and successful applicants will be trained at a suitable event.  A mutually agreed work schedule will be created for the remainder of the season.
