State of Origin back at Queensland International Three Day Event

The Fitton HorseInsure State of Origin on horseback contest is on again in 2015.

The top four riders from their home states of Queensland and New South Wales will vie for the title during the 2015 Pryde’s EasiFeed Queensland International Three Day Event (QI3DE) from 3 to 5 October. QI3DE chairman Dr Cameron Osborne welcomed Fitton HorseInsure’s sponsorship of the State of Origin contest.

“This will be the third year of the State of Origin competition and we are very pleased to have Fitton HorseInsure as the sponsor for a second year,” he said.

Fitton Insurance Brokers director Ron Fitton said he looked forward to a fierce but friendly competition with New South Wales winning the inaugural contest and Queensland leveling the scoreboard in 2014.

“The State of Origin last year was such a wonderful spectacle, we look forward to supporting the State of Origin riders this year and are excited to see the new facilities at the Noosa Equestrian Centre.

“Being involved in the Queensland racing industry, it is fantastic to see so many retired racers finding new purpose in eventing,” Mr Fitton said.

Dr Osborne said the Fitton HorseInsure State of Origin competition provided an opportunity to showcase riders from their home states in a similar fashion to the rugby league State of Origin.

“Team members will be announced later this month. The winning State’s success is recognised on a specially commissioned perpetual trophy.

“Come along and watch the competition. Entry to the Qi3DE is free, however we ask for a gold coin for Kids Helpline,” he said.
