Ben Hobday at Burnham Market

Ben Hobday and Shadow Man II finished seventh in the Intermediate

Thursday at the Barefoot Estates Burnham Market International was a good day for the Hobday family with Ben Hobday winning the Novice Section H on Shadow Top Gun and Aberllanerch High Tide taking third in the Novice Section I while Ben’s wife Emma finished fifth in Novice Section I on Shadow Puppet

On Friday Ben added four top ten finishes in the Intermediate sections with the popular Mulry’s Error finishing eighth and Cassino Reeb ninth in the Open Intermediate (both finishing on a score of 33.4 but Mulry’s Error having the advantage of being closer to optimum time), Shadow Man II was seventh in the Intermediate J and Cooley Absolute Altitude tenth in the Intermediate K

Next week Ben faces an equestrian challenge of a different kind, riding in a one off flat charity race at Cheltenham Racecourse, the Home of Jump Racing, on Thursday April 20th

Sir Mark Todd, Tina Cook, Alice Fox-Pitt and Ben Hobday will ride in the race, along with eight members of the public chosen from over 600 applicants for that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride at Cheltenham. Each rider has pledged to raise a minimum of £2,500 and all funds will be split between The Bob Champion Cancer Trust with Hannah's Willberry Wonderpony Charity
