It is a big weekend for Bubby Upton who has her first start as part of Senior British Team in the FEI Nations Cup at Houghton International as well as taking part if the Saracen Horse Feeds British Young Rider Championship
Bubby has two horses in the Young Rider Championship, her European Junior Championship horse Eros DHI, who leads after the dressage phase with a score of 28.6, and Cola III, the runner-up in the Young Rider Championship here last year, who is currently in third place on 31.3
Phoebe Locke and Union Fortunas
Phoebe Locke took the lead on Union Fortunus early in the dressage and held it until Bubby and Eros DHI overtook them as the very last combination into the arena on Friday afternoon. Lucy Robinson riding Red Jazz is very close behind Bubby and Cola III in fourth place with a score of 31.4 while Heidi Coy holds fifth and sixth places riding Russal Z and Halenza

Bubby’s test on Eros DHI had a minor error in one transition which probably cost her a larger lead, but it was otherwise a lovely way to finish a day of dressage eventing in front of a magnificent backdrop
