The contest for the FEI Nations Cup is back on next week with the third leg taking place in Strzegom, Poland from 28th June till 1st July

The Hippodrome in Morawa near Strzegom, venue of last year’s FEI European Championships, will host the LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials and the third leg of the 2018 Nations Cup Eventing. After Nations Cup competitions in Vairano, Italy and Houghton Hall, the Swedish team tops the leader board with France and last year’s Series winner Germany are equal second, followed by the USA team

The competition has an added interest as the Strzegom leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup will also apply the new 2020 Olympic Format for the first time, meaning that three riders will be competing as part of their Nations Cup team, with the other rider as an individual. However, if one of the team riders does not make it to the final phase of the competition, the individual can be substituted in as the counting score.

“The competition in Strzegom will certainly be exciting and it will also be a test of the new Olympic format” says Marcin Konarski, Event Director.

Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden are sending teams to the new format competition with the British team consisting of;

Alice Dunsdon and Sambo III

Coral Keen and Wellshead Fare Opposition

Wills Oakden and Cooley Ramiro

James Sommerville and Talent

Australia’s Katja Weimann will compete as an individual in the CCI3* on board her own BP Escapade (pictured below at Luhmuhlen)
