Louise Svensson Jahde takes tractor in Sweden

Louise Svensson Jädhe and Waikiki  win the Indoor Cross Country at Sweden International Horse Show

Sweden’s Louise Svensson Jähde has won the Indoor Cross Country at the Sweden International Horse Show on her first appearance there

Louise, a member of the silver medal winning team at the FEI European Eventing Championships this year in Strzegom, won the John Deere tractor thanks to her quick time of 35.19 on board the grey Holsteiner mare Waykiki

“It was absolutely amazing” said Louise “What a mood. This was the first time I rode here at Sweden International Horse Show. The crowd is absolutely wonderful”

The only one who was really close to threatening Louise's victory was the European Championship gold medallist Ingrid Klimke but, in spite of a very quick ride on Parmenides, she was 14 hundredths of a second slower than Louise while Ireland’s Joseph Murphy on Electric Cruise came third

The team win went to the Mixed Team consisting of Peter Flarup (Denmark), Tim Price (New Zealand) Joseph Murphy and last year’s winner, Esib Power. The home Swedish team of Niklas Lindbäck, Ludwig Svennerstål and Sara Algotsson Ostholt were in second place while Germany finished third

Georgie Spence, Ben Hobday and Tom McEwen made the trip from England with Georgie and Halltown Harley being the top placed Brit in sixth place. Ben and the popular Mulry’s Error finished in 10th and Tom on Royal Roxey was 14th

Tim Price was riding Boleybawn Fernhill, owned by Swedish Young Rider Amanda Brieditis who is currently Tim and Jonelle Price’s working student/home rider but they almost didn’t make it to Sweden when the team found itself without a lorry until fellow Kiwi rider Bruce Haskell came to the rescue. Luckily they don’t have to get the tractor back to the UK ............

Niklas Lindback may have missed out on the big tractor but he won the mini tractor in the John Drive Ride & Drive earlier in the evening

Niklas on Elarita HC beat other eventing riders and show jumpers on both his horse and driving the mini tractor around the course to take home the prize
