Festival of British Eventing - a family event

With the Festival of British Eventing approaching Sam Lloyd chats to Event Director, Peter Phillips, ahead of the event from 3rd-5th August at Gatcombe Park, the home of the HRH The Princess Royal and her family.

This unique Festival incorporates the Magic Millions British Open, Intermediate and Novice Championships, as well as the Amateur Championship, The Corinthian Cup and for the first time this year plays host to the RoR/NTF Retrained Racehorse Event Championship. It is the only event in the equestrian calendar that provides five Championships and as a result is a genuine showcase of one of the most challenging and competitive sports with the best of the best competing

Sam talks to Peter, who takes up the reins as Festival Director for the first time this year about the challenges of the hot British summer and ground preparation, the top level British and international riders who will be attending, the course his father is designing and how the event offers plenty for all families at Gatcombe Park
