Bill and Improvise on course on Saturday

All horses presented passed the second horse inspection at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this morning but two horses were withdrawn

Sadly Bill Levett, who was lying in ninth place, has withdrawn with Bill saying on Twitter that he gutted to have to withdraw Improvise but “he is sore after giving his all on XC and not in his interests to SJ #dotherightthing”

First timer Imogen Gloag has also withdrawn Brendonhill Doublet, lying in 40th place after a very good start to their CCI4* career

The Best Dressed riders this morning were Ben Way and Ros Canter and Becky Woolven's Charlton River Dance won the Best Presented Horse, making it a double win for Becky who won the Best Dressed female at the First Horse Inspection

Tom Crisp's Coolys Luxury won the Best Shod horse
