Boyd at Burghley

One of the large contingent of American riders (although we still claim him as an Australian!) to compete in the Friday morning session at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials was Boyd Martin on Steady Eddie.

They scored 48 to finish the day in equal 21st place but Boyd has faith in the cross country ability of the  ‘tough’ New Zealand thoroughbred that he first rode in flip-flops and shorts

Steady Eddie may have flown from the USA, courtesy of one of the generous Land Rover grants that the American riders are so lucky to receive, but his origins are distinctly Antipodean as Boyd explains
