Luhmuhlen's cross country by the numbers

“I want to test the way the riders ride” says Mike Etherington-Smith

Mike Etherington-Smith was clearly happy with the way things turned out on his new cross country courses at Luhmuhlen, saying that

“It takes a couple of years to get to know a course and I already have some good ideas for next year. But I am really happy to have seen so many positive rounds, motivated and confident horses and smiling riders. The weather was perfect and the footing could not have been better though David Evans, Carl Fletcher and their team prepared the footing for anything. They have done an amazing job! The work they have put into building this course is fantastic”

While many thought that the course was slightly softer, the stats are always interesting to see and it seems that Mike E-S struck a good balance for his new course. We thank Chris Kirby for his work (if you are stats freaks, you might like to also check out Chris’ four year comparisons for Badminton and Kentucky)
