It was our first visit to Belsay Castle in Northumberland which was hosting its sixth year of the event and there was plenty to see and do as well as the eventing action. The Corporate Hospitality marquee was the place to be, there were plenty of trade stands to browse and other horsey action included a BSPS Working Hunter Pony Show, Pony Club Show Jumping and a fast and furious Inter-Hunt Relay competition featuring teams from the Tynedale, Morpeth, Hayden, Border and Zetland hunts.
There only horse we didn’t film during the weekend was one made of horse shoes; the life-size sculpture The Spirit of Freedom was made by local amateur artist James Kemish to commemorate the millions of horses that fought and perished in World War 1
