Indie Vaughan-Jones may be young but she is an experienced eventing rider and at Horseheath Horse Trials we talked to her about the two horses she had bought to the event on Saturday and the course at Horseheath
Indie’s winning horse in the BE90 Section G was Cool Blue, a horse competed in dressage by her owner, Annie Borrett, and evented by Indie but Indie was equally happy with her own Cool Choice despite picking up 20 penalties on cross country. After all, as Indie says, when you buy a horse for £1 anything they achieve is a bonus!
The BE100 and BE90 tracks created by Tina Ure at Horseheath proved to be challenging for some but they are beautifully designed and built courses. The track was similar to last year but running in the opposite direction and, as Indie says, the going was fantastic- the shiny new water complex with its brightly painted boats proved to be the bogey fence of the day but most made it through on the second attempt
