Oh la la for Quality Purdey

Chris Burton and Quality Purdey at Belton International

Chris Burton’s 12 year old mare German bred mare Quality Purdey obviously likes France. Last year she won the CICO3* at Le Pin De Haras and has now taken the CCI3* at Saumur

Chris and Quality Purdey finished sixth at Belton International earlier this year but last weekend at Saumur they finished on top of the podium on their dressage score of 29.2 to take home €8,360. They were several points ahead of New Zealand’s Sir Mark Todd on McLaren, a young horse he has compared to his past superstar Charisma, in second place on 35.1 and Sweden’s Anna Freskgard took third place

Sam Griffiths was another Australian rider to make the journey to France and he too made it worthwhile with Billy Liffy in eighth place (48.2) and Paulank Kings River in tenth place (53.9) – a good way to celebrate his birthday!
