Shane Rose rides Graphene in the Novice Section M at Farley Hall Horse Trials

While we were filming at Keysoe (2), Libby Law was out and about including a quick trip to Farley Hall where a few Australian and New Zealand riders were in action as well as some of Britain’s best

Andrew Nicholson took the two Open Intermediate classes with his up and coming seven year old Yacabo BK and the nine year old Swallow Springs while the Rockingham CIC1* winner As Is was fourth in the Intermediate B class which was won by Francis Whittington on Nimrod II. This nine year old gelding previously ridden by Australia’s Sammi Birch is a recent addition to Francis’ stable of very good horses he recently told us about – he seems to have a penchant for Australian owned horses with Stuart Tinney’s Carlchen settling in nicely with Francis

Nana Dalton took second place in this class on Elite Syncopation while her coach Chris Burton was close behind in third place on Lawtown Boy, one of the up and coming stars owned by Alex Townsend’s parents and Sue Lawson, owners of the Burghley winner Nobilis 18

Sarah Stretton and the very gorgeous chestnut Danger Mouse were fifth and New Zealand’s James Avery riding Legaland Cooley was sixth

The 12 year old gelding Sea Summer Bay, owned by Richard Oliver and usually ridden by Shane’s good friend Sam Griffiths, finished sixth in the Open Intermediate B and Shane also had a few rides at lower levels on some of Sam’s other horses

Millie Dumas had a good weekend with a win in the Intermediate A on Fabian II and second in the Advanced Intermediate on Cameya. Kitty King on her Rockingham CIC2* multiple winner Vendredi Biats took the win in this class with a very good score of 23 and Australia’s Andrew Hoy took third on Cheeky Calimbo
