Oasby (1) may be early in the season but with the venue offering flat ground on free draining soil, it is a very popular event for riders from BE90 up to Intermediate ready to blow the cobwebs away

The four days of competition offer plenty for the lower level eventing fan as well as younger riders, including a BE100 Regional Final for the 2020 Science Supplements Cup at Badminton (replacing one lost to weather late last season) and a Pony Trial as well as BE100 Open Under 18 and BE90 Open Under 18 classes.

At the other end of the scale, the big guns are always seen at Oasby with Piggy French and Oliver Townend having taken several classes between them in the past two years. 2019 was a phenomenal year for Piggy and she started it off taking three classes at Oasby (1) last year while the World Number One Oliver Townend took two wins and both riders had a steady run on their Badminton-bound horses (Read our 2019 Oasby 1 report here)

The courses, built specifically as early season runs by Stuart Buntine, are very attractive for the first hit out of the year and hopefully the weather will be kinder this year.
