As Oasby (1) opens the season for BEDE Events and many eventing riders in those parts, so Oasby (2) sees the season come to a close
The Oasby events are run across the sandy soil of Foxdale and it is no co-incidence that these events open and close the season as the ground drains very well, enabling the events to run even in wet weather. With many events cancelled recently due to wet ground and rain conditions, let’s hope that Oasby can once again battle the odds, especially as the weather forecast is not looking too bad at the moment
Oasby is also run over flat ground in one valley, which helps in poor weather and the cross-country courses, designed by Stuart Buntine and Judith Shipton, are popular. They provide a good experience at all levels from BE90 to Intermediate and the Intermediate track follows the Novice route with an extra loop.
Although it’s the last BE event of the season for BEDE, they are running a Winter Series of dressage and show jumping competitions in association with Nottingham University so, if you want to polish up on those phases between November and February, you can find out more on the BEDE website
