In the pink with Jake Tarrant

      Jake Tarrant and Trojan Odyssey

You couldn’t miss Jake Tarrant at Firle Place International in August. He was the guy riding in bright pink colours to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research

“Breast cancer has been a constant in my family for many years” explains Jake “It runs through the maternal side and has closely impacted us, claiming the life of my aunt and doing its best to take my mother’s life as well (thankfully she has been clear for many years now)”

“For the last few years I have chosen to recognise their battle, and many other women’s, against breast cancer by foregoing my usual colours and donning The Pink at this specific event. Anything pink or sparkly is a bit of a taboo at British Eventing, so we are really making a statement each year. This year, I would like nothing more than to make it mean something more substantial and to raise a significant amount of money to help others succeed in their own battles”

Jake was riding two horses at Firle and we thought we’d help get the word out there and ‘spread the Pink’ with the cross country video of Jake riding Trojan Odyssey in the BE100

“We alternate yearly which Breast cancer charity we support” says Jake “This year we chose Breast Cancer Now; this is a charity that is based solely in researching new drugs and treatments to help prevent and cure this horrendous disease"

"Over the last few years we have raised somewhere in the region of £6k towards Breast Cancer research and patient care, but we are always trying to raise more. Our Just Giving Page is still open at the moment and can be accessed through our face book page or by using this link. Thank you!”
