Oliver Townend's new strategy

Visiting British rider Oliver Townend told us yesterday that he is enjoying the sunshine and relaxation of being in Australia and today he wondered if maybe this should be the key to his preparation for events in the UK

“Everybody knows in England that I come across a bit grumpy ..... but here I am having a great time with my friends ..... maybe this is the key to me eventing in England, that I shouldn’t take it so seriously!”

(Mind you, his current strategy seems to be working quite well in England as the leading British rider and ranked ninth in the world)

Oliver and Napoleon, the 11 year old warmblood owned by Oliver’s Australian friend Tim Boland who has organised the trip over here, scored 44.90 to put them into second place just 0.60 penalties behind Tim and GV Billy Elliott, currently leading the RM Williams CIC3*

This is what Oliver had to say straight after his dressage test
