The Mark Todd Award at Goulburn goes to .....

Sarah Post and Borromini over the final fence minus stirrups

Our Mark Todd Award at the NSW State Eventing Championships at Lynton, Goulburn goes to Sarah Post and Borromini. They finished 20th in the EVA95 A but completed most of the cross country course without stirrups, jumping clear and adding only 1.2 time faults, which we think is pretty impressive.

Borromini has some vision problems in one of his eyes but that certainly didn’t deter him from getting 19 year Sarah home safe and he looked as if he could do it all over again!

“I’m not quite sure where I lost it but it was quite early on” said Sarah who seemed quite unfazed but very proud of her little chestnut horse “The leather broke on one side and I decided it was more comfortable to take my foot out of the other stirrup to get better balance”

The Mark Todd Award is of course so named after Sir Mark’s 1995 ride around Badminton on Bertie Blunt with only one stirrup. They were unfortunately eliminated at the second horse inspection but returned the following year to win the title; we are looking forward to Sarah emulating the great man and winning at Goulburn next year on Borromini!

Nearly home with only 1.2 time penalties!
