Win a cross country video and coach analysis

We’re delighted to announce the four winners of our cross country video coaching analysis competition in July

It was a very tough task to choose the winners – there were so many entries providing insight about what riders feel that they could learn, from both watching their video and having their performance analysed in an actual competition environment

“Cross country can be such a difficult phase to critique and learn from due to the time and distance it covers. Your videos solve this problem and have helped me a lot in order to learn from my mistakes and things I did well, as well as being able to watch other riders in order to learn from them” said Amilia Schooley as part of her winning submission. Amilia will soon be finding out what Lucinda and Lissa Green thought of her ride in the CCI3*-L at the Australian International 3 Day Event in 2019 on board Grande Exito

Lucinda and Lissa will also be providing an analysis of the ride by Amy Whittington on Newmarket Adventure (Vern) at Burnham Market (2) 2019. This was Amy’s first year competing at Novice level and she had a specific problem she hopes that Lucinda and Lissa will help her to address “We had a good dressage test, great clear in the show jumping and the cross country was going really well until we came down the hill and Vern took a stride out so we didn’t quite make it to the brush corner around the ropes. It cost us the win which would have been awesome and expert analysis to help us improve would be brilliant. Lucinda and Lissa are great inspirations and Caroline is a fantastic coach” Amy told us

Caroline Moore is indeed a ‘fantastic coach’ and many of Caroline’s pupils put their hands up for more online help

“I am moving up to Novice this year and it would be really helpful to get some feedback on how I can improve, especially with not being able to get to training” says Scottish-based Isobel Mactaggart “I have had lessons with Caroline Moore, I think she is a really good coach and I would love to have her analyse my video”

Your ride on Treefers at Belsay 2019 will be analysed by Caroline very soon, Isobel

Moving up a level in competition can always be daunting and this was also the theme of the entry from Jennifer Stead, who asked for her video riding Fortunus in the CCI4*-S at Chatsworth International 2019 to be analysed by Caroline. Another Scottish based rider, Jennifer finds distance a problem for training at the highest level

“The analysis would provide a great insight from such a fantastic coach on how I ride cross country before we step up to 5* in 2021 and help me further my education as a young rider. It’s a great opportunity to receive feedback and training tips from a technical 4* track which is not possible for me due to having no access to a cross country of that standard within 4 hours driving”

Congratulations to all four riders and many thanks to all who submitted entries. We wish you all the best for the rest of this season (fingers crossed) and for the development of your riding skills
