Entries are open for the 2024 Chatsworth International Horse Trials, to take place from 17th – 19th May in Derbyshire.

It will be a special year for cross country course designer Ian Stark, who began his course designing career here at Chatsworth in 2005.

He went on to design the 2015 European Eventing Championships track at Blair Castle in his native Scotland, produces what is known as the ‘4.5* course’ at Bramham and more recently has included the 5* course at Maryland in his extensive repertoire. But Ian, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday will retire at the end of 2024 and next year we may see a very different course at Chatsworth.

As well as being one of the iconic British events, with Chatsworth House as a stunning backdrop and a great country fair atmosphere, Chatsworth hosts the only FEI Eventing Nations Cup leg in the UK. Last year France dominated the event, which is a favourite for the French riders, winning the Nations Cup team competition and Stephane Landois topping the individual CCIO4*-S podium.

France also took the first leg of the 2024 FEI Eventing Nations Cup at Montelibretti (ITA), giving them a good start on the 2024 series leaderboard.

Entries are now open for the CCIO4*-S Nations Cup, CCI4*-S and CCI2*-S classes plus national level Advanced and Novice. Ballot date is 23rd April.
