2012 National Youth Development Squad The National Youth Development Squad is a multi-discipline, State-based Squad. Like the National Futures Squad, this Squad is selected and managed by the National HP Program, but activities are State-based through the National Pathways Program. Up to four riders per discipline may be named in each State on this Squad. These Squads focus primarily on the education of ‘the rider as an athlete’. One SSSM camp per State will be held annually under the direction of the EA SSSM Manager. Riders may be invited to National Pathways Clinics, but priority will be given to Senior and Elite Youth Squad members. The Development Squad is identified through consultation with the National and State Selectors for each discipline (State Selectors only for Dressage), and also via the Talent ID Days.
