Oceania Championships 2026 Young Rider Changes

With the 2025 Adelaide Equestrian Festival no behind us, there is news about next year’s Oceania Championships, contested by Australian and New Zealand teams, to be held as part of the Festival from 16th - 19th April 2026.

The Oceania Championships, contested across two divisions - the CCI3*-L for Young Riders and the CCI4*-S for Senior competitors – will see an increase in the eligible age, with Equestrian Australia and ESNZ Eventing agreeing to increase the age of the Young Rider Oceania team championship to 25 years of age.

This will be effective for the 2026 Oceania Championships hosted by Adelaide Equestrian Festival.

The next two Australian-hosted instalments of the Oceania Championships will take place at the Adelaide Equestrian Festival in 2026 and 2029. Next year will be the first time the Young Rider division will be hosted at the Adelaide Equestrian Festival while the Senior teams have not competed there since 2009.

The Oceania Championships were last held at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show in 2024 when Australia took its second Senior Championship in a row and New Zealand also retained the Young Rider Championship
