The Adelaide Equestrian Festival is ‘teaming’ up with iconic Australian RM Williams and other corporate sponsors in a big way, with a new team-based concept for competitors at this year’s event.
The inaugural R.M.Williams Corporate Cup will see every competitor in the 2025 Adelaide Equestrian Festival assigned to a team. The teams will be evenly divided based on rider level, current form, and experience and competitors with multiple rides will be asked to nominate one combination. So we could see some very interesting combinations of riders, horses and nations competing together!
A Team Captain will be appointed for each team, acting as the liaison between the Team Sponsor and the riders. Nine corporate sponsors have already signed up who will enjoy exclusive opportunities to meet and interact with elite riders and their horses such as taking a cross country course walk with their own team members, gaining behind-the-scenes access to meet the equine stars and enjoying the event’s premium hospitality offerings.
The Teams will be announced at the ‘Riders Welcome’ event on Wednesday, April 30th when an R.M.Williams representative will assist the Team Sponsors in drawing their Team Captain. Each Team Captain will join their Team Sponsor on stage and then announce the team members who will be battling for the honour of taking home the first-ever R.M.Williams Corporate Cup.
The team with the lowest total penalty points after three phases will be declared the winner of the inaugural cup and a presentation will be made unmounted during the CCI5* prize giving on Sunday.
