70-year-old Judy Clarke is inspiring eventing riders with her 3Star win (and style)

It seems that we are not the only ones in awe of 70-year-old Judy Clarkeโ€™s fabulous riding skills, with our cross country video of Judy and her horse Oaks Quasimodo going viral on social media.

The video has had over 20,000 views and more than 550 likes since it was posted on our Facebook page on Monday (#MotivationMonday of course!) and it is clear that Judy has provided plenty of inspiration and motivation for riders of all ages.

More than 100 wonderful comments

"I rode in a baby event last weekend, first one in 20 years. Never was or going to be 3 star rider but truly inspired by this to press on and live my best life. Go Judy!"

"If I'm lucky enough to be jumping even 60cm when I'm 70 I'll be bloody stoked! This is awesome"

"In 7 years I want to do this too ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ what an inspiration"

"Well done Judy what an inspiration you are. Really motivates me to keep getting out there - even if I am stuck at 65cm"

"I needed this today!! Thanks for the inspiration".

"Wow a lesson on how still to keep a lower leg! Just fabulous!"

"Iโ€™m happy to be jumping 80cm courses aged 60- this is a whole other level!!"

We talked to Judy after her win at Equestriad and she told us that she does fitness and weights to keep her position and balance in top form. It certainly works, especially as the eight-year-old Oaks Quasimodo is an exceptional and quite freaky jumper!

She also admits that she cannot leave the Start Box without wanting to go for time โ€“ like her good family genes that have helped keep her fit, going for time is in her DNA she says! You can watch our full interview with Judy here

We also recently talked to three GOERs (Getting Older Eventing Riders) in the UK and found out that, in many ways, age really is just a number in eventing. What an amazing sport this is. You can read that article here
