Entries have closed for Bowral Kubota Festival of Eventing to take place at Wallaby Hill from 2nd - 4th of December 2022 and there is a strong sense of anticipation for what will be the final event of the year in NSW, after a very trying season of cancellations

“The stables arrived today and are up. It’s very exciting” says Event Manager Sophie Evans “Even the courses are set and ready to go”

The December event at Wallaby Hill normally hosts international classes including a CCI4*-L but El Nina has once again played a part, with weather conditions making access difficult and a lack of lead-up events, so the international classes will be all short format at CCI2*, CCI3* and CCI4* level.

But the event is looking set to go ahead, with all preparations in place, a drying wind in recent times and a fair weather forecast

There will also be two CCN1* classes (Open and Junior) and, for the first time at the December International event, national EvA95 classes

This lower-level class has proved particularly popular with entries received populating three sections of EvA95; this lovely venue has riders keen to get a run in before the end of year

Stuart Tinney will be designing the cross country for all levels, having taken over the reins from the USA’s Derek di Grazia, who was to be designing the 4* courses here for the first time this year

The event starts on Friday 2nd December with dressage for all classes, all cross country with take place on Saturday 3rd, along with the EvA95 showjumping while the rest of the showjumping will be on Sunday 4th December

Seating on the viewing terrace around the show jumping arena comes with pre-ordered VIP Picnic Baskets (think food sourced locally from the Southern Highlands, wine from Centennial Vineyards in nearby Bowral and beer from the Eden Brewery, brewed with hops grown at Wallaby Hill), Saturday night will see Dinner, Drinks and Dancing and you can ‘glamp’ it up overnight in luxury glamping tents on-site.
