No doubt many competitors at Denman Horse Trials in NSW, Australia will be staying up late to watch the CHIO Aachen livestream this weekend. NSW-based combination Shenae Lowings and Bold Venture are part of the Australian team there and many of her friends and colleagues will be competing at Denman Horse Trials on July 1st & 2nd.

Denman is one of those lower level events, running classes from EvA45 to CCN1*, where you’ll find not only amateur riders having a great time but also professionals taking the opportunity to run some of their ‘babies’ at a well-run, friendly event.

Denman, located in the Upper Hunter Region of NSW, about 250 kilometres north of Sydney, also seems blessed with a very good climate so, even in the middle of an Australian winter, you can get lovely sunny days, which is the welcome forecast for this weekend.

Last year Denman was one of the few events that was not washed out due to the floods and Olivia Barton and Craig Barrett took the spoils in the CCN1* classes. Olivia, who has gone on to win her first CCI4*-L at Melbourne International, doesn’t have a 1* horse here this year but will be competing in the lower levels.

The Barrett family is represented by Oliver, who will be riding Sandhills Briar, a horse who led here after dressage last year, in the Marsh Carney Saddlery CCN1*. Top riders Cathryn Herbert, Emma Bishop and Andrew Barnett all have entries in the CCN1* along with the young man who does well in both show jumping and eventing, Charlie Richardson.

We’re filming all competitors on cross country and don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for video snippets and more!
