Denman Horse Trials 2025 Cross Country Videos
Charlie Richardson and his thoroughbred VH Wingman lead the way in the Marsh Carney Saddlery CCN1* at Denman Horse Trials after Saturday’s dressage with showjumping and cross country to come tomorrow.
A lovely sunny day in the Hunter Valley was perfect for dressage and a few sections of showjumping at the Denman Pony Club grounds and some combinations certainly put their best foot forward, with the leaders of all but one section posting sub-30 scores. But the score of the day goes to Sarah Clark riding Charismatic Balou SF who leads the Lady Godiva Equestrian EvA80C with a score of 16.90. It was a good day for Sarah who is also in second place of the EvA80B riding Chilli Note SF behind section leader Craig Barrett riding Tudor Prince.
Chilli Note SF sounds like he could be a Chilli Morning baby and there is another of the famous stallion’s progeny competing in the Mobile GG Spot EvA65A with Hazel Shannon riding her homebred Callisto, by Chilli Morning, at the mare’s first event.
Hazel and Callisto are in second place after dressage and showjumping with Hollyn Edmondson giving Hazel a run for her money in this class. Hollyn and her thoroughbred Demon scored 23.8 in the dressage, pipping Hazel’s score of 24.7 and then jumped clear to remain on their dressage score heading into tomorrow’s cross country.
Hazel may be a multiple 5* winner but she still remembers doing her first ever 1* at Denman Horse Trials “I have a vivid memory of losing a stirrup and being completely out of control. Hopefully no repeats this year” she says on her social media – you’d better check back tomorrow and find out what happens!
