We’re counting down to the Limitless Lodge Sydney International 3 Day Event (21st –23rd November), the last long format event of 2025 in Australia and it’s going to be a biggie!

Riders have been aiming towards this event for several months and the competition will be hot across the classes, especially at 4* level with important MER’s on offer and selection for the 2026 World Championships in everyone’s minds.

Ones to Watch

Defending champion Sam Jeffree will be contesting the Limitless Lodge CCI4*-L with two horses - last year’s winner Santoro and Wimborne Conjuror, third in the CCI5* at Adelaide Equestrian Festival earlier this year - but he will be up against the in-form Shenae Lowings and Bold Venture, CCI4*-S winners at both Tamworth International and Scone at Ellerston, and Andrew Cooper riding Sharvalley Thunder, who placed third in the CCI4*-S at Luhmuhlen in June.

Oliver Barrett also has two entries in the CCI4*-L with Sandhills Briar and Sandhills Gem having finished second and third to Shenae at Scone and Jess Somerfield also brings forward two in this class with APH Sensation having his first 4*-L start and Finch Farm Carpentaria, who completed his first 5* in fourth place at Adelaide this year.

Hannah Klep’s Tulara Chicouve, the only combination to make the time on cross country at Scone apart from Shenae and Bold Venture, will be ones to watch along with another up and coming Tulara horse, Sophia Hill’s 10-year-old Tulara Baltango, winner of the CCI4*-L at the Melbourne International 3 Day Event in June

Emma Mason and KPH Kingfisher, Andy Daines and Hat Trick and Sam Fasher riding Angelina Gold round out the 13 competitors in the 4*-L while 11 combinations will be starting in the Agnes Banks Equine Clinic CCI4*-S, including four-time CCI5* winners Hazel Shannon and Willingapark Clifford and last year's CCI3*-L winners, Christine Bates and Bloomfield Findon.

Last year’s winners of the CCI3*-S at Sydney, Hannah Deegan and HK Hawthorn, will be competing in the 4CYTE CCI3*-L this year, as is Lamoza Velisha riding Call Me Cooley, recent winners of the CCI3*-S at Scone while Niki Rose will be one to watch with her two horses in the Rose Hip Vital CCI3*-S.

Hannah Rockwell will be coming to Sydney 3DE on a high to contest the Bates Saddles CCI2*-L, having not only won the CCI2*-S at Scone with her French horse Hermes Des Brandieres but also having won her CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle debut at Boneo Park with her dressage horse Baumann’s Diorella.

The two divisions of CCN1* feature some of Australia’s rising stars and changes to the competition format for the EvA65cm, EvA80cm and EvA95cm classes mean that the grassroots riders get to enjoy riding the main cross-country track on Sunday this year.
