An Eventful Life is filming at Equestriad CCI at Camden – order your full cross country video here
It was a beautiful, warm spring day of eventing at Equestriad at Camden on Saturday but it was a particularly good day for one competitor, Olivia (Liv) Shore who leads the Camden Council CCI4*-S after dressage and showjumping.
Liv and her 12-year-old mare Eliva Castana led after dressage on a personal best score of 28.9, which seems to be a trend at the moment, with her partner Oliver Barrett also producing a personal best score to lead the CCI4*-L at Agria Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials after dressage. Liv and Eliva Castana then jumped a beautiful clear round with just 1.6 time penalties to finish the day on 30.5, giving them 4.6 penalties in hand over Emma Mason riding KPH Kingfisher and Sarah Clark riding Casallia S (35.8), who both jumped double clear.
And, on such a special double whammy dual hemisphere day, of course we had to have a chat with Liv, who also has the best smile in the eventing business.
There was a change of leader in the Camden Council CCI3*-S after showjumping with Samantha Cesnik riding Graftango moving to the top of the leaderboard thanks to a clear round while the dressage leader Blair Richardson riding VH Victor dropped to fourth with one rail down.
That also gave leeway for Gemma Tinney riding PHS Hilton and Shenae Lowings riding Dotti to move into second and third places with double clear rounds. It is very tight at the top of this class with less than one penalty between the top three.
With just dressage completed, Tara Rogers riding Mallyon Hills Deruet leads the Leader Equine CCN2*-S while Emma Mason riding Grandview Kaddilac Jack and Blair Richardson riding VH Royale lead the two CCN1* sections.
The EvA50 and EvA80 sections enjoyed a run around cross country today with all other competitors heading across the cross country tracks at Camden Bicentennial Park on Sunday.
