We’ll see you at Quirindi Eventing CCI Horse Trials this weekend (16th and 17th May) where the Quirindi Racecourse is hosting international level short format classes at CCI4*, 3* and 2* plus a national CCN1*-S.
The grassroots levels are not forgotten either with national classes being held from EvA50 to EvA95 and Pony Club classes also available at Pony Club Grades B-E.
11 combinations are taking part in the CCI4*-S with last year’s CCN winner Andrew Barnett having already told us that Quirindi is on his list in the lead-up to Melbourne 3 Day Event with his recent Equestriad winning horse Oscar Park Deluge. Shane Rose tops and tails the field with Holy Moses re-routing from the 5* at Adelaide Equestrian Festival and Cooley All Over, who took fifth place on his dressage score in the CCI4*-S at Adelaide.
Samantha Cesnik is also competing in the 4* with Graftango and we’re delighted to see her pupil, India’s Shashank Kataria back competing after a tumble at Wandin Park earlier this season. Shashank came back with a bang, winning the CCI3* at Ballarat International at his first competition back on Icaro LB, and Shashank has both Icaro LB and HB Zara competing in the CCI3*-S here.
There are plenty of talented young riders in the CCI2*-S, including Liam Mackenzie-Smith, who won his first 3* at Equestriad recently but this time Liam will be riding Mikado Rose.
The event kicks off on Saturday with the EvA50/PC E Grade and EvA65/PC D Grade classes heading out on cross country that day We’ll see all other riders on cross country on Sunday after the CCI3* and CCI4* classes have showjumped.
