It’s going to be a Long weekend of eventing, in a good way, at Quirindi CCI Horse Trials (28th - 30th August), where all classes are being run as long format at Quirindi Racecourse, NSW.
It isn’t just the Bundella Station CCI3* and Boonoona DEsign CCI2* that are being run as long format competitions but also the four national classes from EvA60 to CCN1*, giving lower level competitors the perfect opportunity to experience the long format experience. To help those who haven’t competed at long format competitions before, there is also a very handy ‘Learn About the Trot Up’ session on Thursday afternoon.
The first horse inspection takes place on Friday 28th followed by all dressage, cross country runs on Saturday and showjumping on Sunday, following the second horse inspection.
Six combinations are taking part in the CCI3*-L with Chris Height and Shashank Kataria making the journey from Victoria. Shashank, who won the CCI3*-S here in May with Icaro LB, will be competing HB Zara while Chris is bringing two horses, Lucky Contender and Royale Remington. Liam Mackenzie-Smith and Sandhills Invader, who won the CCI2*-L here last year are back in the 3*-L and Liam is also riding Mikado Rose in the CCI2*-L.
