A quick update from Sunday at a very hot Hanson Tonimbuk International Horse Trials where our two leaders after dressage went head-to-head again today to come out in first and second places.

Sam Jeffree just pipped David Middleton to the win, with Sam and Santoro taking the VRW Civil CCI4*-S class on a final score of 55.1 while Dave and WEC In The Breeze took second place on 55.9. Sam also claimed third place on Wimborne Conjuror (57.3) while Kenny Walsh enjoyed the ride of her life on board Eliva Corduroy to take fourth place; Yona Lloyd riding Ballahowe Ayurevdic and Kirilee Hosier riding AEA Flynn rounded out the top six at the first Australian CCI4* of the year.

We talked to Sam, Dave and (the well-travelled but now settled in Victoria) Kenny and will be bringing you those interviews very soon.

Another interview coming up is with the back-to-back winner of the CCI3*-S, Edward Darby riding the homebred chestnut mare Dawn of the Day, who claimed the class with a large margin over second placed Molly Barry riding Impulsive Ways and Tahlia Purcell riding Astro NZPH.

And the winner of the Charlie’s Stockfeed CCI2* was one we tipped would be hard to beat with the in-form Lamoza Velisha riding Call Me Cooley taking the win with the only double clear cross country round of the day in the FEI classes.

We’ll be back with photos, interviews and full reports very soon!
