Shane Rose and Holy Moses led after the dressage at the recent Sydney Eventing Autumn Classic, and they did it again on Saturday at the 2026 Canberra International Horse Trials (20th – 22nd March).

Shane and his young horse Holy Moses took the lead today in the Asset Hire Construction CCI4* with a score of 32.3 and followed it up by adding just 1.2 time penalties in the late afternoon showjumping at Equestrian Park to head into Sunday’s cross country on 33.5.

While few poles fell, time penalties were the theme of the 4* showjumping phase. Local rider Hannah Klep, who took second place here last year with Tulara Chicouve, was just two penalties behind after dressage on 34.3 and she also added two time penalties to now sit on 36.3 while the CCN4* winner at Sydney Autumn Classic, Emma Mason riding KPH Kingfisher, holds third place on 38.2.

Judy Clarke riding Oaks Quasimodo leads the Wallaby Hill CCI3*-S after dressage and showjumping while Charlotte Lalak riding Fairbanks Casino leads the Completely Equine CCI2*-S and Cortney Harris riding DaVinci leads the CCI2*-L, with both 2* sections having gone cross country today.

More to come across the classes in our quick update tomorrow and full wrap up next week – in the meantime keep an eye on our socials for video snippets!
